Spesary wasn't born in a boardroom. It was born in a shopping cart.
I was just looking for a grocery list app.
A few years ago I was simply looking for a grocery list app. It seemed like the smallest problem in the world. It wasn't.
I tried several. Some disappeared after a few months, taking my lists with them. Others were just disposable digital sticky notes: you wrote, checked off, threw away — and with them every trace of your habits vanished. Still others tried to do too much, deciding for you what to buy, how to organize, when to go back to the supermarket. The "smarter" they got, the less control felt like mine.
Just me, my products, the order of the aisles.
So, without too many expectations, I opened a note on my phone. Nothing special. Just me, the products I actually buy, and an order I slowly built by following the aisles of my trusted supermarket. Shopping after shopping, that note became something I cared about. I went in, got what I needed without wandering, and left. No distractions, no useless products slowing me down.
But a note is still a note. It couldn't keep up with me.

From there, the same idea spread naturally: clothes shopping, organized by store and season; home essentials, sorted by category.
